Hi Hank-fans!

Here's a great article about one of John R. Erickson's most recent awards for the Hank the Cowdog series:

"John Erickson, author of the Hank the Cowdog series of mystery books for children, was presented with the A.C. Green Award, an annual honor given to a notable Texas author for lifetime achievement. Past recipients include Elmer Kelton, Don Graham and Wyman Meinzer."

"Erickson was once told by an editor that his books had 'too much integrity and not enough sex,' he said in a speech after he received the award. He also said many books he read were too lowbrow for his tastes. He said he takes pride in writing books that are respected by his friends, family and community members."
